I really love it when Hope just hits the record button without telling us and begins the episode. So, Zencastr is fucked. Podcastle is fucked. We're trying a new way of recording, which should hopefully not change anything for you. Anyway, with the preamble out of the way, let's talk about Stargate. Maybe. Sorry, this season is being a mixed bag again and today we got given an episode where absolutely nothing happens and we have to do a bunch of filler to make content out of it. Daniel is forced to relinquish his title of wife guy as he experiences the most common thing to happen to anybody in the United States military, which is to witness his wife being penetrated by another man. What ensues is an episode in which every single character attempts to tell Daniel to go find a baby about 50 times and he somehow doesn't understand what any of them mean. There's no riddles. There is absolutely nothing confusing about what he is being told in the slightest.I don't know, he has COVID or something this episode.

S3E8 - Rules of Engagement

I (Hope) am sleepy. Because the episode was originally exported at 1.6x speed. You might have gotten to hear the patreon cut. The regular episode is up NOWIt finally happened! After all this time, the gang is back together again. What better way for us to bring everyone back onboard than to do a little bit of team building? We rented out the Stargate National Park of Vancouver for an exciting outdoor game of laser tag with a little twist that Ryan and Hope couldn't possibly be expecting. I thought we could make things a bit livelier if they had laser tag guns, but I had a fully functioning AR-15 with bump stock. If they can survive this encounter, it will make them better podcasters.Oh yeah, we actually talk about Stargate at some points during this episode, I guess. We're a Stargate podcast. I basically just described what happens in this episode at the Apophis ISIS training camp stocked with the best military grade twinks the US armed forces could find. S3E7 - Demons

We were so close. We were so close to returning to the way the podcast was intended to be. Frosty AKA Sierra finally has returned (that's me) and Ryan wasn't overworked or half-dead for once. Unfortunately, Hope is busy with her collection of 10/10 smoke show baddies in another country, so the inmates are running the asylum on this one.And I was supposed to edit the episode and build our backlog while Hope was away. I did not. Sorry.Anyway, that's enough preamble. This is an episode where we explore such groundbreaking ideas as misunderstanding what the term "dark ages" means as the gang arrive at the field in Vancouver to find the civilisation that's just one church. Not a particularly big one either. Also no one seems to do any kind of labour or agriculture whatsoever apart from watch an old man decide who should be sacrificed to Satan. We don't want to do it, but if we kill enough people, God will forgive us or something idk. Today the SG-1 crew meet the new main character of the show, John Mandalorian AKA Mr. Will Definetly Be Appearing Again.Yeah, this is an episode that is just straight up from a completely different show. While on holiday in the lush forests of Vancouver once again, the SG-1 team are captured by every Bounty Hunter OC I have ever encountered on a Star Wars RP forum. He needs you to know he's the coolest guy in the galaxy. He needs you to know that. No one can beat him. He's the coolest. He's the best at everything. He has the best gadgets. For some reason, he's also the heckin Joker for like no reason. But he's also a good guy, I guess? Look, someone thought they had made someone cool and then never ever put him back in the show after they realised they didn't. I guess he appears again in a book or something.

S3E3 - Legacy

Welcome to the episode that gives Frosty extreme paranoia and medical anxiety. Yeah, it's an episode of a 90s television show where a character is deemed to be mentally unwell and given the old padded cell treatment. It's a bit of a weird one. We felt iffy about this episode.
 
Arriving on a new Goa'uld planet, the gang are searching around the tunnels™ where they discover a strange sealed room. Inside are a group of 9 dead Goa'uld, who have all died under mysterious circumstances prior to their own hosts dying presumably of starvation. With no clues of what could have possibly caused this, they grab a weird looking tablet and magic scrolling device in the room. Time to leave the rest of the hazmat crew.
 
Unfortunately for Dr Daniel Jackson, there was some kind of cognitohazard in the room and now he seems to be losing his mind. Seeing and hearing what others do not, he must prove that what he is experiencing is real while we see some great 90s psychiatric care in action. Having known people who have been greatly helped by psychiatric care in the modern day, I promise you it is not like the way this episode portrays. Still makes me feel bad kinda though.

S3E2 - Fair Game

Finally, a big moment for our girl Samantha Carter. Hope and Frosty are celebarting as finally we get to see a woman succeed in the great institution that is the United States Air Force, an organisation that we hear is very progressive. Okay, but seriously it's cool that she gets promoted to Major now. Now, it is kind of weird that we have a squad that consists of a Colonel, a Major, and what are essentially two civillian contractors. It's a TV show, it doesn't matter.
Unfortunately, Major Carter's big moment is entirely snatched up by that dickhead little alien guy Thor ruining the whole thing. Jack gets nonconsensually teleported aboard his ship, which is currently in orbit above Earth, as he brings grave tidings to our Colonel. Turns out that the Goa'uld are slightly pissed off that we keep killing them. We've killed a lot of them. We've killed 3 System Lords at this point. They will invade Earth unless our little grey friend manages to convince a group of Goa'uld represenstives that humans should be allowed into the Space UN. Hey, would've been nice if you told us this existed earlier.
 
Jack, for some goddamn reason, is picked by Thor to be the diplomat for the entirety of Earth. Yeah, sure. This one random soldier and the guy in charge of the squad that has killed most of these people should be the diplomat in charge of us all. If only we had professional diplomats. Jack has to win over the three Go'auld Kronos, Yu, and Nirrti. Not an easy feat, especially when there is a murrrrrrrrrrrrrder. Dun, dun dun. Also, this is yet another episode that has its central conflict caused by Teal'c deciding not to tell everyone something again.
