Oh fuck me this was a long one. It turns out when you decide to pick the cerebral franchise that actually has things to say, you end up with a lot of things to say. That's right, we're covering Eva 1.11, which is also sometimes called 1.0. Everyone remembers the classic 90s anime about giant robots, depression, and dads that do not love you. Man, what a downer show. What if they made it again?
Oh, they did? That's right, Hideki Anno went to therapy and decided to make the show again, this time as a series of movies. This is the first of the "Rebuild" movies, that mostly covers the same content as the first few episodes of the show. There's dysfunctional hot ladies, dysfunctional nasty dads, dysfunctional teenagers, and a bunch of fan service of questionably aged characters. Would it be anime if there wasn't?
